What you need to know:

The course uses non-technical trails, since we want this race to be fun and accessible for both newer and experienced off-road riders. The challenge of this race is steady-rolling laps all night long. The team that turns the most laps over those 12 hours wins the race for their class.

Changes due to insurance requirements:

  1. Helmet lights are not permitted. We don’t like it either, and we’re working to change it, but that’s where we are in 2025... thank you for your cooperation. This means all your lighting must be on the bike. Nothing besides goggles is allowed on your helmet; no Go-Pro mounts, no Velcro, NADA! We will inspect your helmet during tech inspection to ensure it is compliant. We highly encourage creative lighting solutions, neon LED ground effects, light sticks, as many bike lights as you can attach… so long as they are not helmet mounted. NOTE: For the purposes of this insurance requirement, your helmet visor DOES COUNT as part of your visor.

  2. All competitors must show proof of AMA membership. You are required to show proof of AMA membership during registration on race day. Competitors will have the option to purchase an event-only membership on-site, but we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE competitors to take care of this before race day. We made nice, simple, how-to instructions here.

Details about the race:

  • Team size from one to three riders

  • Course info is withhelath until race day. It's more fun this way, trust us! (if you're a spectator or volunteer, the staging area location will be announced prior to race day)

  • Riders on teams may use their own motorcycles during the race (that is, the team does not need to ride the same bike throughout the event)

  • No helmet lights or GoPro mounts on helmets (see above). This includes visor-mounting lights etc.

  • Bike & rider must meet lighting requirements. Details will be sent out once you’re signed up, but the short version is that for the entire race:

    • Bike/rider must have a front-facing white light. Light can be bike-mounted or rider-mounted, but NO helmet lights, OEM or aftermarket lighting OK

    • Bike must have a rear-facing red light. Light must be mounted on the motorcycle. OEM or aftermarket light OK

    • Rider must wear a flashing red safety light. Battery-powered bicycle taillights OK

  • Motorcycles and riders must meet all Tillamook State Forest requirements, including current Oregon OHV tag, spark arrestor, and muffler.  Motorcycle and lighting equipment must be in workmanlike condition.

  • A $100 deposit locks in your team's spot. Sign up using this form and we’ll send you payment options. Your deposit is wholly refundable if the refund request is received at info@sang-froidridingclub.com before 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, May 17th.  Payment balance is due during (or before) race registration on May 31st.

  • Three class options (and OK to adjust after you sign up):

    • Amateur:  choose this if you are new to racing, or prefer “green circle” and “blue square” trails

    • Expert:  choose this if you’re an experienced racer, or stick to “black diamond” trails

    • Ironman / Ironwoman:  choose this if you want to do the whole thing yourself!

How much?

  • Teams:  $300 per team

  • Ironman / Ironwoman:  $200

Can I volunteer to help out?
